Marios Giouvanakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1986.  He  successfully completed his studies at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering(Telecommunication’ s Division) in November 2012. Since January 2014 he has been a PhD candidate in the laboratory of Electroacoustics and TV systems, of the same department. His research subject is “Active control of low–frequency sound field with adaptive directivity compound sound sources”. He focuses on using compound sound sources for the reduction of low-frequency noise in small enclosed spaces, using the finite element method and optimization algorithms techniques. At the same time as ancillary tasks in the laboratory are being run, he participates in corresponding acoustic measurements and modifications of multiple-use spaces.
